I remember at the young age of 5 years old having such a strong desire to go to other countries, experience the culture, meet new people, serve alongside others, help people in need, and spread the pure love and joy of Jesus. I’ve had this strong desire deeply rooted within me for as long as I can remember. It never went away but grew as I’ve grown. I have talked to missionaries and people leading ministries, outreach, and nonprofits in other countries.
As my personal walk with Jesus really became a powerful, redemptive, restorative, beautiful testimony, I was able to discover the gifts, passions, and desires the Lord has placed within me. Since following the Lord wholeheartedly, it has been the biggest and greatest adventure of all time and I LOVE to adventure. The Lord has brought me places I never would have expected to go and choosing to follow Him instead of my own plan has left me speechless, awestruck, and incredibly blessed. Every person I come in contact with around the world is a beautiful representation of Christ. We are all made in His image and looking at each person, I see another beautiful, unique picture of the Lord. I can learn something new about God through each person, and I get lost in how absolutely amazing it is. Our uniqueness in every way is so outstandingly beautiful and I’m captivated with how the Lord has created us all and how much we can learn from each other.
How incredible is God? Not only is every person uniquely designed in His image, but every square inch of this planet is uniquely beautiful in its own way and He made it just for us. It’s difficult for me to question God’s love staring at the horizon of the endless ocean or the heights of the tallest mountains amidst the blooming wildflowers and still lake waters. God didn’t have to make it that way, but it is with a purpose for us to enjoy, just like we are all made with purpose and gifted in unique ways. With all this being said, it leads me to where I am headed next.
This last season of life has been absolutely incredible, to say the least. I have been living in Seattle the last two years working in college ministry for The INN. It was the best job and the most beautiful community to be apart of. I’ve learned so much these past two years and I can’t tell you enough about the impact this community has made in my life. I care deeply for college ministry and know the amazing impact it has on students’ lives and how evident God is moving and working in it. I could go on and on about this place, the community, the job, the staff, the students, and the city; but know this was a sweet season and something very hard to leave. Going to work in college ministry in Seattle was 100% the Lord and how He orchestrated it and gave complete peace in that is for another blog post that I can’t wait to share. As I close the page on this season of life, for now, I’m headed to an exciting adventure the Lord has placed on my heat some ten years ago. The timing never seemed to work until this moment.
Which leads you to my blog post now. You probably know by now, but I’m headed on The World Race 2020 Expedition Route. This fire was set many years ago to go into the world, serving alongside others, helping brothers and sisters around the world, and sharing the absolute joy of living life with Jesus. Being able to experience and learn more about cultures, ministries, people all around the world. I’ve been looking at routes for years, getting so extremely excited about the release of them each time. Waiting for them to post, praying for them, almost applying multiple times, and waiting for the route eagerly and patiently with excitement. This year, I did the same. I waited with excitement building as the routes and countries would be released. I read the route and I had this nervous excitement, combined with peace, and a little joyful dance over a route that surprised me; the expedition route. The Lord has been teaching me a lot about my voice and about trusting His, and this route was exactly what the Lord had placed on my heart.
Just like that, I applied, was accepted, and I am now preparing the journey ahead. This route starts in Australia ending in Morrocco, stretching across 4 continents, 11 countries, 1 country for every month. We will be working alongside long-term missionaries and ministries doing a variety of work, spreading the gospel to the unreached regions of the world where the gospel is least accessible, and we will be launching new things along the way following the guidance of the Lord.
As I am preparing for this next season of life, will you consider joining my support team and continue to pray for me as I am preparing for what’s ahead? Would you also consider partnering with me financially as I have a goal of $19,800 to raise before I can launch in January? Thank you for your love, support, and prayers, and reading this extremely long blog post to the end.
HUGE HUGS,
Mary Grace
